EuroVelo route 7 cuts through the centre of Europe, from the Barents Sea in northern Sweden to the southern tip of Sicily. In Denmark, EuroVelo 7 follows Denmark's national cycle route 9, from Helsingør on Zealand to Gedser on Falster. Here you will experience 305 kilometres of coastline and contrasts. From peaceful nature areas to the metropolis of Copenhagen. From North Zealand's spa hotels and Kronborg Castle, made famous by Shakespears Hamlet, to South Zealand's holiday resorts and the cliffs of Møn. From UNESCO World Heritage sites, both cultural and natural, to art experiences, the story of the long Cold War and some of Denmark's best beaches.

A completely different historical experience is Stevnsfort from the 1950s, which played an important role in the 40-year-long Cold War. There is a beautiful view of the cliff from Højerup Old Church. On Stevns Klint, travelling on foot is only allowed, as the area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: The cliff is evidence that an asteroid hit the earth 66 million years ago.

This stage goes through Køge and Stevns Municipality.

On the Feddet peninsula, nature is absolutely stunning - drive out there if you have time. The harbour town of Præstø is known for its beautiful location on the fjord, and both the medieval church and the beach are worth a visit. Stavreby Harbour, which is the smallest active fishing harbour in Denmark, is known for its unconventional fishing. Between Møn and Zealand, you can cycle on the beautiful Queen Alexandrine Bridge from 1943.

This stage goes through Faxe, Næstved, Stevns and Vordingborg Municipality

Møn is connected to Bogø by a dam. You can eat your packed lunch in Hesnæs harbour, where there is a 35-metre-long 'City Dining Table' for the same purpose. Interested in history? In the small forest Halskov Vænge you'll find 78 ancient monuments: stone mounds from the Neolithic Age and burial mounds from the Bronze Age.

Denne etape går gennem Guldborgsund og Vordingborg Kommune.

The short stage will hopefully provide energy for a detour to Marielyst Beach, one of Denmark's best, and the nature area at Bøtø with a rich and varied birdlife. Also make time for the Medieval Center in Nykøbing Falster. You must also bike Gedser Odde with the beach and cliffs at a very leisurely pace because the nature is very special.

This stage goes through Guldborgsund Municipality.
