The Baltic Sea Cycleroute (EuroVelo 10) takes you around the entire Baltic Sea and crosses nine national borders. The Danish part of EuroVelo 10 begins at the German border in Kruså and then crosses the Danish islands: Als, Ærø, Fyn, Tåsinge, Langeland, Lolland, Falster, Bogø and Møn, before ending on Zealand in Copenhagen. A journey through maritime Denmark with eight bridges and three ferries along the way. Finally, from Nykøbing Falster towards Copenhagen, EuroVelo 10 joins up with Denmark's National Cycle Route 9.

A stage with two castles: Gråsten Castle with the English-inspired landscape garden and the museum Sønderborg Castle, which conveys several hundred years of Danish history in a Southern Jutland perspective. The red castle was built in the 13th century, and Christian II was a prisoner here for 17 years. At Padborg you’ll find tje national museum Frøslevlejren, a prison camp from the Second World War.

The ferry that connects the islands Als and Ærø sails between Fynshav and Ærøskøbing – a town more than 750 years old and very well preserved. Set aside time to walk the topped cobblestones. The Marstal Maritime Museum illustrates Danish maritime history from the 17th century to the present day, and close to the town is Vesterstrand where you will find beautiful historic bathhouses.

A stage with two bridges and a beautiful sailing trip between Ærøskøbing and Svendborg, the regional capita and a very pleasant trading town. If you fancy a little more sailing in the South Funen Archipelago, there are ferries from Svendborg to Skarø, Drejø and Hjortø. At Tåsinge, the church is worth visiting and the view from the tower is magnificent. On a good day you can see as far as Kiel in Northern Germany.

There is a ferry between Spodsbjerg and Tårs, and Nakskov Fjord Nature Park is beautiful nature and exciting culture. A suggestion: hop on a fjord boat to Albuen, a 7.5 km long sandbar. The medieval town of Nakskov is Lolland's largest, and several of the houses in the town center date from the 17th century. Between Nakskov and Rødbyhavn you bike on the dike towards the Fehmarn Belt.

The cycle path between Rødbyhavn and Maribo is a green and flat nature trail along a closed railway. Nature Park Maribosøerne is a protected area with lots of birds, and you may be lucky to see white tailed eagles and ospreys if you come in the summer. Six times a day, the bells ring from the city's impressive cathedral, built in the 15th century.

Between Stubbekøbing and Bogø the ferry Ida makes a 12 minute crossing, and between Bogø and Møn you bike on the dam. Møns Klint (cliff) is 128 meters high, and there are 497 steps from the top to the beach. GeoCenter Møns Klint is a science center where you can play and at the same time learn about Denmark's geology and nature, 70 million years back in time.

The harbour town of Præstø is known for its beautiful location on the fjord, and both the medieval church and the beach are worth a visit. Stavreby Harbour, which is the smallest active fishing harbour in Denmark, is known for its unconventional fishing. Between Møn and Zealand, you can cycle on the beautiful Queen Alexandrine Bridge from 1943.

A completely different historical experience is Stevnsfort from the 1950s, which played an important role in the 40-year-long Cold War. There is a beautiful view of the cliff from Højerup Old Church. On Stevns Klint, travelling on foot is only allowed, as the area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: The cliff is evidence that an asteroid hit the earth 66 million years ago. From Køge, you can choose to continue the route by ferry to Rønne on Bornholm or continue cycling via Sweden.

BeskrivelseThe route from Køge to Copenhagen takes you along the shores of the western suburbs and you will pass by Arken, the world-famous museum of contemporary art, as well as some of the popular beaches close to the city. You will also cross the bridge Kalvebodbroen, underneath of which you will find a troll. Lastly you will pass through Amager fælles, Copenhagens expansive and trasured nature area before you arrive in Copenhagen. From Copenhagen, the route continues via Sweden. You take the bike across the Øresund Bridge and continue to Ystad in Sweden, where there is a ferry to Bornholm.
