The fishing harbor in Hanstholm at one end and Rådhuspladsen in the middle of Copenhagen at the second. The Diagonal Route is 380 kilometers across Denmark, and the experiences are as widely different: The distinctive nature of Northwest Jutland with National Park Thy, farmland and forest areas, a stretch along the country's longest stream, Gudenåen, and lots of city life and cultural history, if you choose to.

A cycle tour around Skive is recommended: 'Skive's 11 stars' are works of art in the city's roundabouts. Afterwards you can bike north and swim in the fjord. Hjarbæk Fjord is a game reserve with lots of birds, and if you like to spend the night a bit primitively, you can sleep in the Tanghuset in Sundstrup. Close by are the burial mounds of Marens Patter, which once served as a landmark for fishermen.

This stage goes through Skive and Viborg Municipality.

Midway on the stage you’ll find the medieval town of Randers, where the 2.5 km long scenic star route tells good stories about the town then and now. Randers Regnskov is a tropical zoo on the edge of the Gudenåen. In Aarhus, there are great museums such as Moesgaard and ARoS, and close to the railway station is the city's street food market with over 30 food stalls and bars. The Molslinjen sails between Aarhus and Sjællands Odde.

This stage passes through Aarhus, Favrskov, Randers and Viborg municipalities

There are one or two ferries on the stage: Hundested-Rørvig and, in the summer, Sølager-Kulhuse. The rest of the year you must bike via Frederiksværk. In Frederikssund, the Willumsens Museum is worth a visit. If you would like to extend the stage a bit, there are almost 20 km of scenic hiking/biking trails in the nature park Mølleåen between Farum and Ølstykke

This stage goes through Allerød, Egedal, Frederiksberg, Frederikssund, Furesø, Gladsaxe, Halsnæs, Copenhagen and Odsherred Municipality.
