If you bike all the way around the Limfjord, you get more than 600 kilometers of some of Denmark's most beautiful nature. It is the country's largest fjord area with a unique birdlife, small islands and lovely beaches with plenty of opportunities for water sports. And you won't be disappointed either if you are interested in art, culture, history or local food like oysters and mussels.

A scenic and varied stage with several swimming opportunities as well as culture at both ends of the stage: Thisted Lilleby with over 90 houses is a miniature version of the town in 1950, and Fjerritslev Brewery and Regional Museum is a beer brewery from the late 1800s. Halfway through the stage, you can take a detour to Northern Europe's largest wild bird reserve, Vaderne.
This stage passes through the municipalities of Jammerbugt and Thisted.
Take a break on the dam between Østerby and Bjerget: from here you can see Ulvedybet, where many ducks and waders roost. The view is also great from Gjøl Bjerg, 17 meters above sea level. Interested in history? Lindholm Høje with some of the country's oldest monuments of the past is worth a detour: you will find several hundred graves from the Late Iron Age and the Viking Age.

The stage runs north and south of Langerak with a ferry trip between Hals and Egense. Take a break in Hals with remnants of an ancient fort and nice bathing beaches. In Aalborg, the new harbour front is known for its great architecture. If you want to shorten the bike ride, you can cycle over the Limfjord Bridge.
The historical museum in Aalborg tells the story of the city from the year 750 onwards, and you can visit a local merchant's farm from 1602. Løgstør is known for the Limfjord Museum, whose historic boat building is UNESCO certified: Clink-built boats are living cultural heritage. Close to the city is Harald Blåtand's Viking fortress Aggersborg, built in 980.

A short stage with several good experiences: Take the ferry from Rønbjerg to the protected island Livø with organic farming, heath, forest and salt meadow, fallow deer and many birds. Ertebølle is both a small village and the name of a Stone Age culture, and at the Stone Age Center Ertebølle you can try hunting, sailing and cutting flint.
This stage passes through the municipality of Vesthimmerland.
If a detour of a little more than 20 km in total is acceptable, you must cycle to Viborg and see the cathedral, which is the world's largest granite church. The manor Hessel south of Hvalpsund is an agricultural museum where you can drive a tractor and help feed bullocks. The harbour in Harbæk is also worth a visit.

Wouldn’t you like to see some of the islands in the Limfjord? Fur is worth visiting for its dramatic landscape with steep rocky cliffs and beautiful views, and the ferry from Branden takes only 4 minutes. From Glyngøre you can bike over the Sallingsund Bridge to Mors and visit the cultural history museum Dueholm Kloster in Nykøbing Mors.

In the old railway station building in Glyngøre, you can learn more about the Limfjord and its importance for the local community. In Lihme you’ll find one of Jutland's oldest churches, and in Ejsing one of the country's largest village churches. The cultural-historical Struer Museum tells the story of Bang & Olufsen, and you can play and learn about sound and technology.
This stage passes through the municipalities of Holstebro, Skive and Struer.
It takes a few minutes with the ferry from Kleppen north of Struer to the island Venø, where you can swim and visit Denmark's smallest church. At Nissum Bredning you’ll find a protected mill, built over 500 years ago, and by the mill lake is a shelter with a fire/barbecue area. Interested in art? Visit Jens Søndergård's Museum in Bovbjerg.

A highlight of the stage is Harboøre Tange with Nissum Bredning on one side and the North Sea on the other. In Thyborøn awaits Jutland’s Aquarium, where you can look for amber and get up close to sharks and rays. Agger in the southern part of Thy National Park is an eldorado if you’re interested in birds and water sports. Agger and Thyborøn are connected by ferry

The National Gallery of Art (SMK) has established a branch in Thy, so take a look inside the merchant’s house in Doverodde. Heltborg Museum is a mixture of local history museum and art museum, primarily known for works by Jens Søndergaard. In Vestervig, you’ll find Northern Europe's largest village church, and the frescoes are just one of many sights inside and outside the church.
This stage passes through the municipality of Thisted.
Between Thisted Bredning and Visby Bredning you bike peacefully from village to village. Thisted is known for its brewery as well as other local specialties such as ice cream and sweets. You can enjoy the goodies in the city park Christiansgave with an open-air theatre, herbs, edible flowers and a collection of busts of Danish kings.
